Light Alloy What is Alloy?

Home

Simply put, an Alloy is made up of a blend of metal and non metal substances, usually blended together while molten. Making an alloy is one way of making a stronger metal. It is also a great way to make a less expensive metal.

Steel, Brass and Bronze are all alloys as is a lot of the gold we see in our jewellery stores. Aluminium alloys are widely used for engineering purposes. Creating alloys greatly increases the range of uses for most metals. Scientists are constantly testing and researching various new alloys for their incredible potential.
